YOUTH ENTREPRENEUR This award recognizes outstanding youth entrepreneurs (30 years of age and under).
ENVIRONMENTAL BUSINESS This award will recognize a local business that has made a significant contribution and commitment to improving the environment.
BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT This award honours a business who has recently taken steps to improve their company’s image in some way.
INNOVATIVE SMALL BUSINESS This award recognizes a business who has introduced a ground breaking or original product or service that sets the company apart from others, or has demonstrated advanced or new use of technology.
HOME BASED BUSINESS This award honours a home operated business that consistently shows excellence and quality. They will have established strong relationships with their customers and conduct their business as a business not a hobby, and operate the business as a primary or secondary source of income. They must have been in business for at least one year and show potential for future growth.
NEW BUSINESS (UNDER 2 YEARS) This award is presented to a company or individual who has been in business for less than two (2) years and demonstrates creativity in the spirit of business development.
TOURISM / HOSPITALITY The recipient of this award would demonstrate their customer service, innovation and positive participation in our community encompassing quality business relations, economic development and business growth.
ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR An award will be presented to an outstanding business owner, who in the last 12 months has developed their business to meet changing community and consumer demands. They will have provided a high level of business service, as well being actively involved in the community.
CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE - STAFF UP TO 10 CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE -STAFF OVER 10 These two awards will each recognize a local business, its management and staff, for successfully demonstrating quality customer service. They will each be an organization that is appreciated for its helpful and efficient service, dedicated to customer satisfaction and willing to go the extra mile.
BUSINESS OWNER / MANAGER OF THE YEAR This award honours a business owner/manager who excels in the following areas: fair wages, ethical treatment, equal benefits, good work/family balance practices, and respectful treatment of employees.
THE MAYOR’S AWARD This award honours an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the business community through their involvement with and support of community events and projects: a citizen who volunteers and donates to special interests within the business community
